Paula Maxwell, Founder and MD

Paula is energetic and passionate – she loves providing clients with a fresh, objective perspective and providing deep insight about the capability of their talent. After 20 years working both in business and as a management consultant, it became clear to her that many people are pushing themselves upwards, ultimately to fit into roles that bring them little joy and limited value to their organisation. Paula’s key driver is to help individuals to love their job. She uses her many years of experience in assessment, coaching and development to support organisations to match their people to the best roles for them. She also works with individuals to help them make stretch career moves work, allowing them to hit the ground running.

Paula has run her own small consultancy for a year and half focusing on these matters of perspective. Prior to that she worked for just over 10 years in Hay Group’s leadership and talent practice. Before this she gained eight years of experience in a variety of business roles. She holds a BSc in Business Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Coaching, and a wide variety of accreditations in psychometric tools and people analytics techniques.

The partnership was formed by a group of experienced consultants in 2016. They saw an opportunity to combine their expertise and brands, and offer a more diverse and holistic consulting service to clients. Together they have a depth and breadth of experience across all areas of Human Resources consulting. Partnership members include:

Richard Waddell

Richard’s approach is centred on helping leaders to solve problems, whether it’s an issue with their own performance, an unclear view of potential, a lack of effectiveness in their organsiation or something else. He’s assessed and coached the most senior executives in a range of contexts, from advising FTSE businesses on CEO appointments through to developing front-line nurses in the NHS.

Richard’s most relevant experience for this project is relatively recent – he worked alongside other assessors for Teach First. Helping them to select the very best head teachers for challenging schools was an enjoyable and rewarding challenge.

Before setting up his own consulting firm, Richard worked for Hay Group as part of the Leadership and Talent practice. He partnered with clients worldwide on things like assessment, development, competency and career-path design. Prior to that he gained his own personal leadership experience, training at the Royal Academy Sandhurst and completing seven years as a British Army Office. He has a MDes(Hons) in Automotive Design, is an accredited coach and has ILM qualifications. He trains others on how to use diagnostics such as Talent Q and EI tools.

Victoria Hanson

Victoria has been working in Executive Assessment and Development for over 15 years. She thrives on supporting individuals to unlock their potential and helping organisations make better decisions about how to manage their most important assets – their people. She has worked with a broad range of clients across the private, public and not for profit sector; in addition she is well travelled, having worked all over Europe, Asia and the Middle East. For ten years, Victoria worked for a global management consultancy, developing deep expertise in robust, researched approaches to measuring and managing an organisations talent pipeline. She designed and delivered tailored talent management strategies for a number of FTSE 100 firms and was part of a team that won a prestigious MCA talent management award for a global bank. Victoria is heavily focused on ensuring that her clients invest their people budget where they will get the best return on investment and make the biggest difference.

She has a BSc in Sociology and Psychology from Loughborough University, is part way through a Masters in Organisational Behaviour at Aston University and is accredited in wide range of psychometric tools including Belbin, Hogan’s, Emotional Intelligence and Talent Q to name a few.
